The Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC) is a non profit professional organisation, which brings together more than 1000 people with scientific backgrounds who operate in the Cosmetics and Fragrance industries. A group of chemists created the association in 1958 with two clear objectives: to establish contact with other professionals in the cosmetic sector and to establish relationships with similar societies in other countries.

The society has several key objectives, including: the promotion of scientific and technical development of cosmetics and fragrance in Spain, the training and specialization of young people entering the sector and keeping all professionals up to date with the latest developments in the industry.

Furthermore, the SEQC is a society which collaborates with other institutions and with the government on Cosmetic and Fragrance industry issues.

With regards to its external approach, the SEQC forms part of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) and is the world’s 5th biggest cosmetics society in terms of membership numbers.

In 2016 the SEQC created COSMETORIUM, an event for the Cosmetics Industry, which focusses on the formulation, manufacture and distribution of cosmetics. In 2017 the second edition of COSMETORIUM will take place in the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona, Fira 1, Montjuïc from October 3-4.
